I was born on November 1st 1975 in Huntsville, AL. To my parents, I'm still Harold, but to the world I'm Bo. When I was 15, my family moved to England since my dad was sent there for work reasons. The story is true: we really did live next to Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne. I dropped out of high school just before my family came back to the states, but I did earn my GED. While we were in England, I became interested in performing in bands. I mean, I always loved music.
I'm going to spare you all the details.
2005 was one of the most amazing years of my life. I auditioned for Idol only because my mom dared me to. She said I wouldn't do it, I said she wouldn't go with me for moral support. I didn't expect to make it to the finale and go head-to-head against Carrie. Hell, I didn't expect to make to Hollywood. I was so not the norm of a "pop" star with my long hair and tunic like shirts, but I guess America fell in love with this old southern boy. Caroline and me married in June, and we welcomed Aidan in September. We're divorced now. I still care about her as a good friend, but we realized that our marriage couldn't handle the stress of me being away either on tour or through my illnesses. Aidan's our pride and joy, we both love and care about him so much. I can't believe he's already 2. It feels like it was yesterday that the doctor had me cut the cord. He's seriously my best friend, and I can't believe I'm saying that about a little boy who loves to watch Spongebob and Bob the Builder. I just love being a daddy, it's the best thing that's ever happened to me.
With my music, everything is going the way that the good Lord intended it to. I wasn't meant to be a huge international star that gets nominated for countless Grammys and AMA's. That's not me. The real me is to perform the music that I like, and as long as I have an audience, even if it's just my parents and my son, then I've done my job.
